Your Roles

  • You will integrate the Project Development and Scouting team at Planet2050 and focus on a growing portfolio of biochar-related projects in Europe and globally, developed by Planet2050 or its project development partners.

  • You will be responsible for the overall lifecycle of these projects, write technical specification requirements, analyse a variety of feedstocks from biomass residues to municipal waste, and support all activities such as business case assessment, LCA calculations, emissions accounting, and certification preparation.

  • You will support engineering decisions, develop contact with different technology and service providers, and supervise logistic efforts for project initiation and development.

  • You maintain contact with stakeholders around the world such as project developers, auditors, and standard and certification bodies.

  • You establish and maintain rigorous MRV (Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification) processes to ensure precise tracking of carbon sequestration, emissions reductions, and additional environmental co-benefits across all stages of the project lifecycle.


Your Profile:

  • 3+ years of experience in the sustainability and carbon market with a deep understanding of carbon removal methods, technologies, and their environmental impacts.

  • You have a strong background in thermal processing and an understanding of pyrolysis reactor systems, ideally with first experience in biochar or similar energy/carbon removal projects. 

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Sciences, or a related field.

  • You possess excellent oral and written skills in English.

  • You want to contribute to a growing team of people willing to become changemakers.

  • Agility and self-organisation.

  • You take initiatives to propose new creative concept and actions.

  • Result orientation, conceptual and analytical thinking.
