iOS Team Lead (volunteer)
Note: The following is an opportunity for flexible, part-time, volunteer work to address climate change. Please DO NOT APPLY if you are only looking for paid employment. A 6 minimum month commitment is preferred. This is a remote-from-home position.
Are you an experienced iOS developer with team leadership experience? Do you want to make a difference in the climate crisis? Are you motivated by working with smart and talented individuals who are creating a better world? Can you commit approximately 3 - 5 hours a week, working remotely on your own schedule with our far-flung, diverse team? If so, we would love to chat about your help and unique talents.
Who We Are
Earth Hero is a global all-volunteer nonprofit organization with users in 150+ countries. We exist to make it easy to act on climate change. The climate emergency we currently face requires adequate and immediate action. It is one of the most threatening crises of our time. To rise to the challenge, we help people discover personalized, positive steps to care for our shared planet, improve lives, and build a better future. Check out https://www.earthhero.org to get to know us better and see if our mission and project resonate with you.
We are looking for an action-oriented individual who is excited to address climate change to be the new iOS development team leader. The current team leader is stretched too thin across other parts of the Earth Hero project, so we want to bring in help to speed up progress.
About the role
Provide technical leadership and guidance to the iOS development team.
Conduct code reviews, identify areas for improvement, and provide mentorship to team members to foster growth.
Oversee the development and maintenance of the iOS version of Earth Hero to enhance user engagement to address climate change faster.

Perks
Be part of the solution to one of the biggest challenges of our age.
Channel your talents and passion in an interesting environment.
Experience and help shape an up-and-coming nonprofit organization.
Do amazing work on a flexible, part-time basis.
Have fun while you make a difference.
Expectations
You will work remotely and on your own schedule. Roles work best with a minimum commitment of 6 months for 3 - 5 hours a week (or more if you like!). Because our all-volunteer team is spread worldwide, we rely mostly on a combination of Slack, Github, and video calls to communicate.
If you possess a high level of self-motivation, work well independently, have strong collaboration skills, enjoy the opportunity to partner with like-minded individuals, and can commit quality time per week to help achieve team goals, we would love to hear from you.
