Job Description
About the role
Invaio is seeking to hire a highly motivated Bioprocess Research Associate to join our Research team in developing a transformative platform for precision targeting in agricultural applications.
What you'll do
- Lab scale fermentation operation and process development, including experiment design and analysis (flask and lab bioreactor scale)
- Routine operation and development of separation and purification techniques such as centrifugation, chromatography, tangential flow filtration, dialysis, cell disruption, and drying unit operations.
- Up- and down-stream process monitoring through various analytical methods such as dry cell weight, optical density, pH, conductivity, & protein quantification (SDS-PAGE, ELISA, HPLC, etc.)
- Scale up of existing lab scale processes in collaboration with senior scientists/engineers
- Close collaboration with other team members and cross functional partners
- Troubleshooting and design of novel approaches
- Routine presentation of experimental results to project teams
- Work cross-functionally with other teams within R&D to support projects as needed
Qualifications
- B.S./M.S. in chemical engineering, bioengineering, biology, process engineering, or a related discipline
- 0-5 years industry experience, relevant COOPs during undergrad highly preferred
- Execution-focused, team-oriented, and highly motivated, with strong work ethic
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects concurrently and collaborate across disciplines
- Strong verbal, written communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to excel in a fast-paced, dynamic, innovative environment
- Experience with microbial fermentation and bioreactors preferred
- Experience with protein & peptide lab production and purification preferred
- Experience with one or more of the following preferred: centrifugation, chromatography, filtration, dialysis or other separation technologies
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
