About the Job / Team:

As the Manager, Data Centre Engineering, you will lead and optimize our AI-driven data centers. This role is pivotal in ensuring the seamless operation of our cutting-edge technology, directly impacting our ability to deliver innovative and sustainable energy solutions. You will lead a talented team of engineers and technicians, driving operational excellence, efficiency, and reliability across all our data center sites. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a strong technical background, proven leadership skills, and a passion for innovation.

Responsibilities:

  • Operational Excellence:

    • Oversee day-to-day data center operations, ensuring 99.9% uptime and adherence to service level agreements (SLAs).

    • Develop, monitor, and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to enhance efficiency and reliability.

  • Team Leadership:

    • Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing team of operations staff, fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability.

    • Develop clear performance goals and career growth plans for team members.

  • Cost Optimization & Scalability:

    • Optimize operational processes to reduce costs and improve scalability across multiple data center locations.

    • Manage the lifecycle of hardware, from procurement to decommissioning.

  • Infrastructure Management:

    • Maintain a deep understanding of data center infrastructure, including electrical, mechanical, cooling, and hardware systems.

    • Drive automation and innovation to streamline operations and minimize downtime.

  • Risk Management & Compliance:

    • Design and implement policies for safety, compliance, and operational procedures, adhering to industry standards like ISO and OSHA.

    • Develop and refine incident response protocols and disaster recovery strategies.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Leadership Experience: Proven track record of managing large-scale data center operations, with a minimum of 7-10 years in a similar role.

  • Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of data center infrastructure, including electrical, mechanical, cooling, and hardware systems.

  • Team Management: Demonstrated ability to build, mentor, and manage high-performing teams in a fast-paced environment.

  • Operational Efficiency: Experience with capacity planning, budgeting, and reducing operational costs while maintaining reliability.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Industry Certifications: Possession of relevant industry certifications including ISO and OSHA

  • Experience with AI/ML Infrastructure: Familiarity with the unique operational challenges and requirements of supporting AI and machine learning workloads.

  • Process Improvement Expertise: Proven ability to identify and implement process improvements within data center operations.

  • Knowledge of Automation Tools: Experience with scripting languages or automation tools to streamline operational tasks.

Compensation:

Compensation will be paid as salary or hourly. Compensation to be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
