RES is currently accepting applications for a Summer Ecology Project Associate in our Raleigh, NC office. The assignment typically runs May-August, but the duration is negotiable based on your schedule. This is a full time position, you can expect our workweek to be of 40 hours.
The Mission: you will work with ecology, engineers and regulatory personnel to perform all aspects of fieldwork and assist with data entry and compilation of technical reports, under the supervision of a member of the Ecology team.

Around 75% of your time you will be in the field! You will learn how to collect a variety of field data, including delineating streams and wetlands, monitoring vegetation, conducting biological and geomorphic stream surveys, and performing hydrologic monitoring!
Please be advised that we perform these tasks come rain or come shine and that working outside in harsh and adverse weather conditions (including both cold and hot environments) is part of the routine. You will also be walking long distances, traversing difficult terrain through thick vegetation, climbing, bending, lifting heavy objects, and performing other physical activities. We have projects all over the state of NC, so extensive travel with overnight stays is often required.
Around 25% of your time, you will be assisting in office work. You will be dealing with data entry and technical report preparation, as well as other restoration site maintenance and management tasks, so be ready to showcase your technical writing, communication skills, and attention to detail during the interview!
