We are growing and currently looking for talented individuals to join our Communications Team.

Do you have a knack for social  media communications? Are you passionate about sustainability and love to join a team of sustainability professionals advancing ethical production and consumption in the UK clothing industry? Then we are looking for you!

What exactly are you going to do? 

As a Social Media Specialist, you will be working within our Communications Team to effectively build and engage with targeted virtual communities of merch suppliers and purchasers. Our objective is to achieve exceptional customer engagement, foster intimacy, and drive website traffic through strategic utilization of the social media engagement roadmap.

The ideal candidate should possess a comprehensive understanding of various social media platforms and how to optimize content for maximum engagement. As a representative of merch.eco, you will participate in relevant conversations, promote our services, and actively engage with our audience on social media.

Your expertise in social media communications will be essential in achieving our goals and establishing strong brand connections.

Your activities will be to:

  • Build and execute social media strategy through competitive research, platform determination, benchmarking, messaging and audience identification

  • Generate, edit, publish and share bi-weeky content (original text, images, video or HTML) that builds meaningful connections and encourages community members to take action

  • Set up and optimize company pages within each platform to increase the visibility of company’s social content

  • Moderate all user-generated content in line with the moderation policy for each community

  • Create editorial calendars and syndication schedules

  • Continuously improve by capturing and analyzing the appropriate social data/metrics, insights and best practices, and then acting on the information

  • Collaborate with the supplier relations team to manage reputation, identify key players and coordinate actions

This is you:

  • You have a bachelor's degree

  • At least 2 years of proven work experience in social media communications or as a Digital Media Specialist in a customer-facing business

  • Excellent consulting, writing, editing (photo/video/text), presentation and communication skills

  • A professional-level proficiency in English

  • Motivation to work with a team that really makes an impact on the world

  • You are used to working independently

  • Positive attitude, detail and customer oriented  with good multitasking and organisational ability

  • You are able to commit at least 5 hours a week

  • Demonstrable social networking experience and social analytics tools knowledge

  • Knowledge of online communications and good understanding of major communications channels
