Outreach Assistant Manager of Community

The Outreach Team plans campus and community events to build and maintain relationships with external organizations. These community events include food drives, clothing drives, the Santa Claus Parade, visits to local high schools, and many more. The Outreach Team also organizes events and initiatives to foster interfaculty relationships with the various student government organizations of Queen鈥檚 University.

As Assistant Outreach Manager of Community, you will be in charge of the community-related events and initiatives under the portfolio, which will allow you to create a positive impact in the Kingston community. Under the guidance of the Director of External Relations, you will get to hire a team of general members to assist you with planning events like Thundercanz, the Santa Claus Parade, the sponsorship of a local youth hockey team, and any new event ideas you bring to the position.

Responsibilities include:

  • Hiring general members of the Outreach Team
  • Planning events with general members under the community outreach branch
  • Assisting the Head Manager with running weekly meetings
  • Acting as a representative of Queen鈥檚 and the Engineering Society in the community
  • Marketing events and initiatives

  • Passion and enthusiasm towards community outreach
  • A strong work ethic and self-motivation
