Our business specializes in cutting-edge design and commercialization of integrated lithium-ion Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and software solutions tailored to the Commercial, Industrial and Small Utility renewable energy markets. These solutions are especially focused on the rapid adoption of renewable energy resources and electric vehicle charging solutions.
EVO Power is going through a period of strong and sustained growth in Australia and has recently expanded its business into the US and South Korea.
As part of our long-term strategy to continue this unprecedent growth, an opportunity exists for a Head of Sales, a critical leadership position within EVO Power USA and the Commercial function.
ABOUT THE JOB
The role is responsible for the achievement of the organization’s sales and revenue targets, development of the local sales team, development and implementation of market strategies, and the promotion and sales of the EVO Power portfolio of products and services.
Main Purpose of the Role:
- Achieve annual financial objectives including Net Sales, Net Margin, Gross Revenue as determined by the business and manage Commercial Team Cost Centre expenses in accordance with annual budget.
- Lead the Sales team to deliver outstanding sales results by supporting new and existing clients with a professional and educational/consultative technical sales approach.
- To focus on the development of sales within the Commercial & Industrial and Utility BESS space. To develop new opportunities and grow our network of partners to deliver BESS solutions for Projects, Tenders, PPA deals etc.
- Maintain strong existing customer relationships and source and develop new customers.
- Embed the use of sales and customer data, identifying risks and opportunities for the business that provide direction and focus for the broader sales team.
- Work closely with and provide input to EVO Power internal stakeholders, cross functional teams and leadership on the selection market leading hardware and software solutions.
- To come up with new ideas to “create the market” including working closely with developers, government and retailers for projects, trials and other ESS system rollouts.
- Collaborate closely with the key management team to work on new opportunities that may arise.
- Manage the Utility / Industrial sales team and work together to provide the highest level of customer service / sales revenue balance.
- To deliver the agreed KPI’s, company vision, strategy values and specific objectives of EVO Power USA.
- Attend industry conferences and events to promote our brand and offering.
- Develop a high performing sales team through effective people and performance management to optimize effectiveness and potential of team members.
- Build effective cross-functional relationships and high levels of collaboration with key internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and lead the sales team and provide guidance on targets and direction.
- Manage key sales aspects of the business between EVO Power & strategic opportunities (providing sales, marketing, training, project support).
- Meet regularly with key customer contacts & communicate product roadmap, presentations and project delivery timelines.
- Support onboarding new partners/customers with product information, training, and co-operative marketing initiatives to maximize sell-in, sell-out and repeat business.
- Establish a key account management plan ensuring that critical data such as customer organization, key contacts, business model, channel strategy etc. are captured and maintained by the sales team.
- Develop & update/maintain a strategy within the channel/account plan to maximize the sales of EVO Power’s ESS range within the assigned customers & channels, including proactively seeking-out new opportunities to be promoted to developer and installation businesses.
- Stay informed of market trends, competitor activity, and regulatory changes.
Additional Tasks:
- Attend all necessary internal & external meetings, conferences and functions as required.
- Submit monthly report on all strategic activities (including performance against agreed plans), negotiations, and industry development.
- Adhere to critical ISO 9001, ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 processes.
- Manage trading agreements (including negotiations) between EVO Power and its customers.
- Report incidents and near misses to the HSEQ Supervisor or the Compliance Officer.

ABOUT YOU
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
- A minimum of 10+ years senior team leadership experience with preference for experience in a sale, business development or marketing environment.
- At least five years’ experience in the renewable energy industry is crucial.
- Strong commercial acumen, balanced with strong team development and collaboration skills.
- The ability to establish constructive and effective stakeholder relationships, both internal and external, including the ability to network at management and executive levels.
- Highly experienced in business development planning and managing strategic projects.
- Demonstrated ability and solid understanding of managing financial KPI’s for a business unit.
- Demonstrated record of achieving financial targets (sales and margin objectives).
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams, and the ability to influence others.
- Deep knowledge of the renewable energy market including regulations and emerging technologies.
- Eligible to work in the United States (required).

LOCATION
Ideally Southern California (LA to San Diego), however suitable candidates outside of this location will be considered.
