Job Title Health and Safety Consultant 

Location Merseyside, Wirral, Cheshire, North Wales and surrounding areas.  

Salary from £50,000, up to 15% bonus and health cover

The H&S Team provides business wide H&S leadership, strategy and direction integrating business and group Health & Safety policies, programs and processes in support of operational excellence, legal compliance and safe working practices.  

Reporting to the Operational Assurance Manager the main purpose of the role is to support the delivery and ongoing development of the Health and Safety Management System and delivery of specific H&S projects and initiatives in the energy and utility sector. 

 

What you’ll be doing 

  • To support the SP Energy Networks business to establish, monitor, control and improve safe working environmentsThis includes office, depot, street works, utility and large construction environments. 

  • Provide professional guidance and support to Management and Supervisors across the business. 

  • Develop, promote and manage H&S projects and initiatives. 

  • Lead H&S engagement with internal and external stakeholders. 

  • Complete high quality H&S audits and inspections internally and externally (contractors etc). 

  • Develop opportunities for best-practice exchanges internally and externally. 

 

What you’ll bring 

  • Educated to HNC level or significant compensatory business experience 

  • Experience of the electricity transmission and distribution industry or other utility or construction industries.  

  • NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent H&S experience. 

  • Experience in delivering H&S projects or initiatives. 

  • Well-developed and practiced negotiation, communication, presentation and inter-personal management skills 

  • Able to travel to fulfil responsibilities of role
