Redwood Materials was founded in 2017 to create a circular supply chain for electric vehicles and clean energy products, making them more sustainable and driving down the cost for batteries. We鈥檙e doing this by developing and deploying new technologies to increase the scope and scale of recycled and sustainable materials in the global battery supply chain.
Metrology Supervisor
Redwood Materials is looking for a Supervisor to lead the Fabrication Metrology Team in support of the Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering groups to ensure equipment components and assemblies meet design standards.
Responsibilities will include:
- Manage the daily operations of the metrology laboratory, including scheduling, resource allocation, and equipment maintenance
- Maintain and update metrology equipment, ensuring it is calibrated and in good working order
- Coordination with the fabricator team for project handoffs and technical issues
- Develop material management and workflow systems to optimize shop efficiency
- Develop and implement metrology procedures and protocols to ensure accuracy and traceability of measurement
- Mentor metrology technicians and design engineers on Metrology best practices and GD&T strategies
- Support metrology needs at the Fabrication shop and in the field
Desired Qualifications
- Experience leading a technical team
- Experience with Hexagon Laser tracking systems and equipment (Leica and/or Romer) and Inspire software
- Strong mechanical aptitude with a background in GD&T strategies
- Familiar with ISO standards (9000, 2768, etc.)
- Hands-on and detailed oriented approach to problem solving
- Experience measuring machined and sheet metal formed parts
- Good computer skills; MS Office, etc.
- Solid Modeling 3D CAD experience preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone
Working Conditions:
- Environment, such as office or outdoors.
- Exposures encountered, such as hazardous materials, loud noise, or extreme heat/cold.
- Essential physical requirements, such as climbing, standing, stooping, or typing.
- Indicate if required to work weekends, nights, or be on-call as a regular part of the job.
- Travel requirements.
The position is full-time. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
