About The Opportunity: 

Due to strong growth in the transmission and distribution sector we are adding to our Acciona team in WA. We are seeking a Construction Manager to be based out of the project office initially but travel to site as required. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all related construction activities for our power transmission and distribution program of works. This role requires a strong background in both greenfield & brownfield HV Line projects and substations. 
  
Key accountabilities for the position: 

Ensure that the appropriate resources (including personnel) are in place with delegated responsibilities to guarantee quality, environmental and safety procedures are integrated. 

Oversee development and implementation of the Project Construction Management Plan. 

Ensure CRAWs, Work Method Statements are undertaken where required. 

Maintain project schedule by implementing the construction schedule and, controlling construction progress; coordinating activities; resolving problems. 

Manage construction budgets to allow accurately profit / loss forecasting. 

Organise and manage Acciona’s construction team, vendors and subcontractors on Site.  

Setting clear targets & KPIs and manage interfaces between Subcontractors & Acciona to achieve safe completion of the works in line with schedule & budget. 

Support the Project Director & Project Management to arrange power outage dates & schedules with the client to avoid any disruption or delay of the construction works. 

Provide ongoing feedback, support, counsel, through informal discussion, regular review and formal performance appraisal and encourages feedback from staff. 

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Relevant Tertiary qualifications in Engineering.
  • Preferably 10 years' experience in construction/engineering projects within High Voltage Electrical works and substations
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to work effectively with others.
  • Presented problem solving / analytical skills.
  • Competent in planning and organising work schedules.
  • Working knowledge of HS&E requirements and implementation of same.
