Reporting to Talent Acquisition Lead- Africa

PRIMARY POSITION PURPOSE

SMEC is currently seeking a Talent Acquisition Consultant for our Africa regions – a dynamic and strategically important market experiencing rapid growth and expansion, driven by opportunities across our various business lines.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the full talent acquisition cycle from start to end.
  • Manage recruitment process for candidates by screening resumes and making hiring recommendations to management.
  • Conducting searches for candidates who meet specific qualifications that are required for a job openings.
  • Managing the recruitment process from start to end, including creating job postings, screening applicants, scheduling interviews, and making hiring recommendations
  • Recruiting, hiring, and training employees to ensure that they have the skills and knowledge required to perform their jobs successfully
  • Establishing relationships with universities, colleges, and institutions to recruit potential employees through job fairs or other events.
  • Effective use of latest technologies and recruitment portals
  • Manage Applicant tracking systems, like Workday and LinkedIn recruiter to ensure excellent candidate experience.

RECOMMENDED QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Qualification in human resources, business administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the Engineering industry. Exposure to the latest recruitment technology and portals.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience working for a recruitment agency
  • Communication: Well-developed written and oral communication skills.
  • Branding: Branding skills to understand how to promote a company and its job openings to create advertisements, develop social media campaigns and create job postings that attract the right talent.
  • Negotiation:  This is an important skill for a talent acquisition lead because it can help you to fill open roles and improve your company’s talent pipeline.
  • Strategic thinking:  Strategic thinking to develop and implement recruitment strategies that help SMEC meet their hiring goals.
