Biological Scientist (Internship) - Summer 2025
Clean Crop Technologies, Inc. (“Clean Crop”) stops crop loss at the source, removing pathogens from seeds before they are planted, increasing yields, reducing in-field waste, and improving food safety. Clean Crop’s Clean Current technology combines electricity and food-grade gases to create cold plasma, inactivating a broad spectrum of contaminants from seed surfaces in a dry, automated, and residue-free process. Role & Responsibilities:
- Work safely in a BSL1 laboratory environment
- Perform established and approved microbiological protocols, e.g. plate counting
- Prepare reagents and perform other laboratory maintenance duties
- Assist with experimental trials, including running the cold plasma prototype system and recording trial data
- Record all data and results with accuracy and responsibility. Be able to present data to a technical audience with clarity and brevity
- Ensure that all safety guidelines are followed strictly at all times.
Qualifications:
- B.S. in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or related fields
- Prior experience with lab benchwork, ideally analytical chemistry or microbiology
- Innovative spirit and curiosity to improve protocol efficiency, safety, and speed
- Hardworking, goal-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced work environment with attention to detail
- Creative, problem-solving mindset – outspoken team player
- Must be able to lift boxes and materials up to 50lbs
