Overview

RES is looking for a Summer Environmental Markets Project Associate to ideally sit out of our corporate office in Houston, TX. We are also open to candidates sitting out of any of our RES offices or remotely. The position will run from May to August, with an expectation of 40 hours per week. 

The Mission: RES restores our land and waters with ecological integrity and innovation, project by project. We support the rehabilitation and stewardship of nature’s resources alongside responsible human progress.

Investing in environmental markets is a core competency at RES and the company has structured a centralized corporate group to lead RES’ continued investment in the space.

One of the group’s core functions is to identify and analyze environmental markets. The group’s Investments and Capital Allocation team is looking to hire a Project Associate to build out its data analytics expertise. The Project Associate will be responsible for assisting with data analytics to support investment decisions.

What your day-to-day might look like?

  • Identify new sources of data and pathways to collect data from various sources (query databases, download data from APIs, acquire data from internal excel spreadsheets)
  • Clean, reprocess, and structure data; build and maintain databases that can be used by other non-technical stakeholders
  • Analyze data (run statistical analyses, build predictive models, perform hypothesis testing)
  • Create visualizations, such as charts, graphs, and dashboards; communicate findings to non-technical stakeholders
  • Collaborate with RES’ operational teams to establish industry-specific data analytics opportunities
  • Collaborate with Hub teammates to integrate data analytics into investment decision-making

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or currently pursuing a degree in Business Analytics or Data Analytics
