The base salary range for this position is dependent upon experience and location, ranging from $103,939 to $129,924

JOB SUMMARY:

Scope of Work - Main duties, settings, geography, reporting relationships, other relationships:

Responsible for managing various strategically significant NERC Reliability Assurance compliance programs and projects on behalf of AVANGRID with objectives of timely completion and roll-out to impacted business areas. This position will require working with multiple layers of geographically dispersed management, skilled technical staff, internal and external audit teams, and business personnel.

MAJOR ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Scope of work - range of responsibilities):

  • Process Improvement – The Program/Project Manager will manage various programs and projects targeted to improve Avangrid’s compliance program with the NERC Standards. Many of these projects will require the management of a project team to develop and implement the program/project across several responsible business areas. Example programs/projects include Internal Controls Program, Archer GRC tool implementation, Leading Indicator Metrics for NERC Standards, Training Program, etc.
  • New or revised Standards and Guidance - NERC and the Regional Entity continue to develop and revise Standards subject to enforcement as well as issue guidance documents. These changes are tracked by the Reliability Assurance group and communicated to the responsible Business Areas. The Program/Project Manager will work closely with the Business Area Subject Matter Experts on complex new or revised standards to develop compliance plans and provide oversight management of those plans through completion. 
  • Audit Preparation – The companies are subject to regular audits for compliance with NERC Standards. The Program/Project Manager will be expected to manage the preparation of audit documents prior to external audits and to manage regular internal audits of individual Standards to support company compliance.
  • Document Management - The NERC Reliability program includes almost 100 policies, procedures, and forms that need to be reviewed and updated on an annual basis. A document trail must be kept demonstrating compliance with each Standard. The Program/Project Manager will manage the review and updates of policies and procedures in conjunction with Subject Matter Experts for complex standards requiring knowledge of the subject matter and regulatory interpretations.
  • Industry Group Representation – Avangrid is a member of industry groups and regional committees that address NERC compliance (i.e., comment on draft standards, file comments with FERC, provide input to NERC on regulatory processes, etc.). The Program/Project Manager will represent Avangrid on a least one of these groups with active participation.
  • Other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education & Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 10 years relevant experience in compliance, operations, auditing, and/or engineering OR an 
  • Associate’s degree with a minimum of 12 years relevant experience in compliance, operations, auditing, and/or engineering.

Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong project management skills.
  • Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to understand and analyze FERC/NERC regulatory requirements.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
  • Able to work independently and exercise considerable judgment and decision-making.
  • Able to work under tight deadlines with changing priorities.
