Full time role
In-person · Hybrid · London, England, GB... more

Start here. Grow here.

This is an exciting time for AECOM as we continue to build our global business.  We are experiencing steady growth despite recent challenging economic conditions globally, with an interesting and expanding pipeline of projects across London and the UK.  We are a significant presence in the London Design and Construction industry.

As an Associate Director you will have the opportunity to contribute to leading and shaping the structural engineering team.  You will also be a key member of the Buildings + Places team with an opportunity to grow into a role to help drive the growth of the business across the South East and London Region.  A significant part of your role will be client facing, alongside managing and running projects.

You would also be expected to contribute to the identification of new project leads, securing new and repeat business.  You will therefore need to be adept at engaging with clients and other professionals at the inception stage of projects and use your engineering expertise to make a significant contribution to emerging design concepts.

What you’ll do!

We would expect you to hold existing experience in delivery of projects from inception through to completion and an ability to run and manage resources in the delivery of these projects. Ideally you would hold existing client knowledge and have emerging as well as selected established relationships with the hope of utilising and growing these relationships to secure opportunities for AECOM.

The immediate work for any successful applicant would focus on working on heritage, refurbishment, and fit out projects.

Specific Requirements

  • Comprehensive working knowledge of historic design codes
  • A knowledge of historic construction techniques and materials
  • Experience in the assessment of existing structures and their justification, as well as new build designs and the structural interactions between both.
  • Some site experience, inspecting construction works and surveys of existing buildings.
