Our GFL team is expanding, and we鈥檙e looking for an Environmental Project Manager to join our Ontario team. In this role, you will manage environmental projects, assist with regulatory submissions, and liaise with environmental regulators. You will stay updated on regulatory changes, provide reports and presentations based on project trends, and support the compliance status of our operations. Strong project management skills and experience in environmental services will be key to success in this role.

A 鈥淒ay in the Life" of an Environmental Project Manager:   

  • Manage environmental projects (including issuance of RFP, reviewing submissions and recommending consultant/contractor, managing budget and timelines)
  • Assist with regulatory submissions including application for approvals/amendments/renewals and financial assurance.
  • Liaise with local, regional and/or provincial environmental regulators and policy makers. 
  • Stay up to date with regulatory changes that will affect the permits and/or compliance status of the facilities or operations.
  • Development short reports and presentations summarizing technical / lessons learned based on trends and projects
  • Research and summarize information from a variety of sources

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Post-Secondary education in environmental sciences, engineering or a related field.
  • 5-7 years of related experience working in environmental services or similar large complex multiple stakeholder environments.
  • Knowledge and experience of current Canadian environmental laws.
  • Project management experience.
  • A valid G driver鈥檚 license, access to a vehicle and the ability to travel to various office locations.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills.
