We’re looking for a Service Technician (Mechanic) for our location in Kempton Park, South Africa to focus on the delivery of planned maintenance programs to ensure reliable and safe asset operation.

What you’ll do:
- Coordinating and undertaking a range of maintenance activities within defined operating procedures
- Conducting safety inspections and complying with Aggreko's safety regulation
- Providing first level technical advice to customers
- May resolve/troubleshoot implementation problems.
Other responsibilities:
- To carry out major maintenance as per work instruction on Aggreko generators
- To carry out procedural based failure reporting using paper and electronic systems
- To carry out replacement, with or without assistance, of engine components on Aggreko generators.
- To carry out ‘On the Job Training’ for service crews (assistant support / assistant technicians).
- To carry out switching on Low Voltage equipment
- To complete and maintain paper and electronic records as per site specifics.
- To operate and troubleshoot the generators using generator controllers and SCADA system.
- Adherence to 5S and QHSE standards

You’ll have the following skills and experience:
- Qualified artisan in accordance with local labour laws
- Diploma in Mechanics
- Experience as a Mechanic/Mechanical Technician would be an advantage.
- Experience in Gas and Diesel Engines a plus
- Must successfully complete all assessments in compliance with Mechanical technician Core level.
- The ability to use specialist tools and ensuring all tooling is calibrated in accordance with Aggreko standards and local legislation.
- Must be capable of working in a restricted space and at heights.
- Ability to work autonomously when required.
- Ability to coach and mentor
- Be certified as LOTO after a 6-month grace period and maintain certification throughout employment.
- Be certified as Jenbacher FTB and maintain certifications throughout employment.
- Have a basic electrical knowledge: ability to make standard tests with an appropriate electrical meter (Voltage AC/DC, Current, Frequency, Resistance etc.; ability to use a battery tester)
