Overview of the Role
Rystad Energy is seeking a proven Account Manager with a strong track record of strategic account management and business development to manage, retain, and grow the firm’s largest Global Accounts in APAC. The role will report to the Country Manager (China) and based in Rystad Energy Beijing office.
The successful candidate will manage large complex accounts – i.e., the China entities of global energy companies (Super Majors, Majors, Large Independent E&P companies, Large Integrated Energy Companies, and Energy Services companies being the primary focus). He/she will drive the strategic commercial engagement with these accounts, collaborating closely with the Global Account Management (GAM) team and the regional Client Success Manager, to deliver value to these accounts with the ultimate goal of achieving revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish a vision for the relationship between Rystad Energy and our Global Accounts in APAC
- Act as a trusted advisor and adopt a consultative approach to sell our research and consulting solutions into Global Accounts in APAC
- Build a network of strong relationships with senior executives and influential stakeholders within Global Accounts to identify growth opportunities
- Develop a robust knowledge of Global Accounts’ businesses
- Develop and implement strategic account plans to maximize account growth
- Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of opportunities within the Global Accounts to drive revenue growth
- Collaborate with the Global Account Management team to manage and grow Global Accounts in APAC
- Work closely with the Global Accounts Client Success Manager to service and grow the Global Accounts, acting as “One Account Team”
- Work closely with internal cross-functional teams – Marketing, Research, Client Solutions, Advisory – to drive engagement, value, and growth with Global Accounts in APAC
- Use the CRM system to manage opportunity pipeline, account information, and engagement plans
- Share customer feedback about our solutions and competitor intelligence with key internal stakeholders
- Identify areas of risk and develop appropriate contingency plans to retain accounts
- Constantly promote the Rystad Energy brand and values externally in all interactions with Accounts
Experience and Qualifications
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree
- Between 3 to 8 years of Key Account Management experience within the Energy industry
- Specifically, experience in selling subscription services within the Energy industry, especially in Oil & Gas industry, will be a distinct advantage.
- Proven track record of surpassing sales revenue growth targets through effective and efficient strategic account management
- Ability to engage with individuals across all levels within target organizations, including Senior Management/C-Suite
- Experience in internal stakeholder management – i.e., collaboration with cross-functional teams internally to drive client engagement externally.
- Ability to work in full English-speaking environment.
- Possess excellent interpersonal communication & presentation skills
