We are looking for an inspiring and enthusiastic Group leader of Chemical Vapour deposition (CVD) to manage the activities of the CVD group and supervise the detailed design, construction, testing, assembly and operation of the CVD machine.


Responsibilities

Design & analysis

  • Coordinate the detailed design of the CVD machine.
  • Lead the analysis of the structural behaviour of the CVD machine.
  • Supervise the definition of technical solutions, materials, welding techniques, sealing systems, interfaces, required qualification work and fabrication/assembly techniques.
  • Lead the CAD designs and development of the technical specification documents.

Manufacturing/Assembly/Testing

  • Manage the in-house or outsourced construction of the CVD machine, followed by its assembly.
  • Supervise the selection of subcontractors and monitor cost and schedule with the PMO.
  • Coordinate the assembly, testing, commissioning and operating activities.

Team management

  • Be the ambassador of Renaissance Fusion's vision within his/her team, and promote its culture, values (speed, simplicity, fantastic realism, constructive interference and unified force) and policies.
  • Encourage collaboration at all levels of the organization.
  • Ensure that his/her team is motivated to achieve its objectives.
  • Take an active role in talent development.
  • Comply with and enforce the highest Health, Environment and Safety standards within your team.

Scientific outcome

  • Coordinate the writing, review and approval of patents and scientific papers.
  • Prepare scientific reports (presentations, posters, etc.) and represent RF to scientific conferences and workshops.
  • Remain on the lookout for any scientific developments in his/her field of expertise.

Ideal profile


Education and professional experience

  • PhD or Master鈥檚 degree + equivalent experience in material science, physics, engineering or closely related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in mechanical engineering and/or analysis and/or construction.
  • 5+ years of experience in thin film processing or/and development in industries such as semiconductors, optical coatings, aero-space, photovoltaics, LED and OLED screens, MEMS, automotive coatings.
  • 3+ years of experience as a technical leader/coordinator and/or project management.
  • Previous experience in a start-up is a plus.

Languages

  • Fluent in English (C1/C2).
  • Knowledge (B1 or higher) of French is a plus.

Technical skills

  • Prototyping and scaling up to volume production innovative thin film deposition processes.
  • Project management from design to assembly.
  • Contract management.
  • Detailed knowledge of material parameters at cryogenic temperatures and in high magnetic fields is a plus.
