Mission Statement:

The Export and Trade Finance (ETF) function is an integral arm of the Hitachi Energy Global Treasury team. We are embarking on an exciting journey to establish a new Trade Finance Delivery Center team, which will be responsible for overseeing trade finance operations for our group entities located in India, South Asia, and South America.

Join us for this unique opportunity to become part of a distinguished team of trade finance experts. As a Trade Finance Specialist you will be engaged in managing Bank Guarantees, Letters of Credit, and other trade finance instruments, while contributing to the development of trade finance products, processes, and tools within our company. Your role will involve building a trust-based co-operation with business units, other internal and external stakeholders including regulatory bodies and banks and maintaining an effective control environment while working with colleagues worldwide.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Working closely for issuance of guarantees and letter of credit to support business requirements

  • Processing outward Guarantees & Documentary LC issuance and inward LCs.

  • Processing documents under LC and its negotiation. Monitoring and tracking inward Guarantees. Processing of Short-Term Trade Finance transactions.

  • Ensuring approvals as per company policies.

  • Refining the existing ETF landscape by designing and implementing end to end automated, straight through processing.

  • Fostering win-win partnerships with banks and Business Teams.

  • Liaises with regional counterpart on trade finance issues / requirements.

  • Acting as an active team member for projects / processes, working independently with limited supervision.

  • Housekeeping – clean up and taking proper action. Follow up with stake holders, if required.

  • Maintain proper documentation and Perform SOX control and sign off in timely manner ensuring proper documentation stored.

Your Background:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Banking, Treasury Management, Economics or other relevant field.

  • Over 5 years of experience in administration and/or handling of Trade Finance instruments 

  • Sound knowledge of Trade Finance products and regulations such as URDG, UCP and other relevant industry standards.

  • Certification in Trade Finance instruments (such as CSDG, CDCS) would be considered as advantage.

  • Pro-active business attitude and problem-solving skills.

  • Solid user knowledge in MS Office/Windows applications.

  • Good communication skills and experience in the daily contacts with third parties.

  • Strong team-oriented working style.

  • Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
