Role & Responsibilities: 

Tolling Operations: 

  • Assist in the execution of day-to-day tolling operations, including: production runs and product trials, entering treatment and QA/QC data into the database of record, and completing clean-in-place protocols. 
  • Operate equipment to execute product and process trials or initial production runs. 
  • Responsible for continuously monitoring and maintaining product quality based on established standards including visual, mechanical and electrical inspection of machinery and performance of customer stock.
  • Closely follow equipment and facility operational procedures, including for safety requirements. 
  • Assist with inventory management and processing of customer stock, under the direction of the QA/QC Manager. 
  • Proactively identify opportunities (and recommendations) for improving operational efficiency and productivity gains of the tolling operations.
  • Execute lab scale QA/QC  assessments of seedling germination and disease, in accordance with AOSA and ISTA standards. 

Facility Operations: 

  • Provide support to the Operations Team on various procurement, inventory management, and cost saving activities. 
  • Ensure all facilities meet company standards for safety and quality control during testing and operations. 
  • Support the expansion and improvement of physical infrastructure and the installation of production equipment.

Required Qualifications: 

  • Currently enrolled in Associates Degree Program in Engineering Technology or a minimum of three years’ experience in a manufacturing environment or related field. 
  • Elementary experience in a hands-on manufacturing environment, including attention to product quality, multi-tasking, and problem solving.   
  • Familiarity with data acquisition systems and data analysis techniques. 
  • Practical experience working with electronic test equipment (multimeter, oscilloscope, etc.), common power tools, and construction techniques. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) or equivalent. ● Must be able to repeatedly lift up to 50lbs. 
  • Must be willing to work on their feet for periods greater 4 hours at a time.
  • Must meet and adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations set forth by the company. 

Desired Experience and Skills: 

  • Elementary experience with 3D printing, light-duty CNC (wood, plastics, aluminum), and CAD (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, etc.) preferred. 
  • Familiarity with electrical testing and diagnostic equipment preferred (oscilloscopes, multimeters, etc.) .
  • Completed coursework in the fundamentals of electricity, photonics/optics, technical math (e.g., ratio, proportion, variation, fractions, fractional equations, functions and graphs, right triangle trigonometry, vectors, solution of linear equations, determinants, factoring, algebraic functions, laws of sines and cosines, graphs of trigonometric functions) preferred.
