Financial Controller - Mumbai

Plantix is looking for a Financial Controller to lead the Indian operations and support the Plantix Group. In India, they will oversee all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecast preparation, and the development of internal control policies and procedures. For the Group, they will work with the team to provide support with projects as they arise, including working directly with the parent company, HELM AG, a German multinational.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all accounting operations, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, and Payroll

• Oversee the preparation and distribution of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.

• Coordinate and direct the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.

• Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements in compliance with Indian GAAP.

• Develop and enforce robust internal control policies and procedures

• Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal tax and regulatory requirements.

• Liaise with external auditors to ensure timely and accurate audits.

• Provide financial insights and recommendations to support business strategy.

• Analyse financial performance and trends to identify areas for improvement.

• Collaborate with senior management on long-term financial planning and risk management.

• Lead, mentor, and develop a small finance team to achieve departmental and organizational goals.

• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth within the team.

• Implement and maintain financial systems to improve efficiency and reporting accuracy.

• Drive automation and process improvement initiatives to optimize financial operations.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CMA preferred).

Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including managerial roles.

Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial regulations, and tax compliance.

Experience with small accounting software systems, Zoho is a plus, and advanced Excel skills.
