Position Overview
Maintenance Supervisor plans, coordinate, and direct the activities in the maintenance, alteration and repair of plant equipment, systems, machines, tools, buildings, structures, and facilities in a Lean organization. You will manage direct capital budget projects, process improvements, downtime and departmental and plant R&M budget/spending programs.

Responsibilities
• Comply with all safety requirements and proper use of (PPE) Personal Protective Equipment
• Understand and practice Trojan Battery Quality Policies
• Ensure machine operator have required materials always
• Meet suppliers to receive and verify materials meet order quantity
• Remove scrap and barrels of hazardous recyclable waste to reclamation area and prepare paperwork
• Ensure that re-orders are timely, notify supervisor of shortages
• Move DUF batteries from racks to formation
• Label hazardous waste and move into satellite area
• Ensure labeling and weight restrictions are met
• Understand and follow work Instructions
• Follow and maintain good housekeeping and hygiene practices
• Responsible individual with strong work ethic
• Load and unloading of batteries, materials and supplies onto and off trucks, in and out of shipping areas, within warehouse, assembly and production areas
• Available for various shifts, and overtime
• Diagnoses defective mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines and equipment
• Understanding of a wide variety of tools and instruments such as: micrometers, calipers, voltmeters and other metrology gauges; hand tools, power tools, computers, machine shop equipment, etc.
• Programs (prefer) and troubleshoots Programmable Logic Control (PLC) and Human Machine Interface (HMI) systems and control wiring to determine problems for equipment by using ladder logic and other tools to do analysis
Basic Qualifications
• Associates degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Chemical Engineering preferred)
• Minimum of 7 years' experience in a Lean manufacturing environment leading maintenance teams
• Direct preparation of specifications, layouts, drawings, cost estimates, etc
• Plan, organize, and administer departmental systems, procedures, operating budgets, continuous improvement and controls for cost effective operation
• Work with appropriate group to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local standards and requirements
• Oversee purchase of all plant non-raw materials and R&M supplies
• Administer PM system, including writing and executing all PM’s
• Supervise hourly maintenance mechanics
• Evaluate hourly maintenance mechanics performance, providing feedback and coaching, and completing performance reviews as required
• Ability to communicate with equipment manufactures to troubleshoot and solve issues
• Working knowledge of preventative maintenance systems and high-performance maintenance groups
• Experience in process systems that include electrical and mechanical applications
• Knowledge of CMMS’s (Computer Maintenance Management Systems)
• Proficient in Microsoft applications
Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Chemical Engineering preferred)
• Experience with baghouses, waste treatment systems, and environmental control systems
• Knowledge of CMMS’s (Computer Maintenance Management Systems)
• Proficient in Microsoft applications
• Bilingual in Spanish
