Main purpose of positionCurrently we are looking for a Financial controller in Amsterdam, the Netherlands to be part of our global team working together towards our vision – Improving our future. As our Financial controller you will assist Finance in relation to the local accounting, reporting and control processes, provide support to the asset management activities and maintain compliance administration. The position ensures compliance in all aspects of internal and external accounting and financial reporting for the portfolio of Scatec companies in the Netherlands with an emphasis on working capital and transactional accounting.

 

Main responsibilities 

  • Assists in overseeing the general accounting function, focused on processing and maintaining accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank posting, bank reconciliation, general ledger and maintain accounting records including data entry of complete and accurate data for day-to-day business transactions
  • Prepare accounting documents, reconciliations and monthly schedules.
  • Prepare invoices to customers, follow up on overdue accounts, handle incoming invoices, prepare reconciliations, initiate fundings and payments and owns accounts payable, accounts receivable and bank reconciliations.
  • Assist in preparing the monthly group reporting to the head office in Oslo
  • Ensure filing of finance administrative documents, data, workbooks and internal controls are maintained
  • Provide assistance to the (external) auditors and handle matters raised by the auditors.
  • Assist in the budgeting and forecasting in accordance with operating plans and Group policies.
  • Design, implement and maintain the company’s ICFR based on group guidelines.
  • Responsible for tax compliance

Qualifications and competencies 

  • A degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration; Solid academic results.
  • 5-7 years of experience within the areas of finance, accounting, auditing, tax and internal controls.
  • Preferred experience from the trust / financial services industry: preferred international experience.
  • Familiarity in IFRS accounting, Dutch GAAP and internal controls.
  • General Tax knowledge
  • Proficient in spoken and written English.
  • Experience from and are motivated to work in a diverse cultural environment
  • You are used to changing environments and to quickly meet new challenges
  • Experience with financial reporting
