Lauderdale, FL and reports to the&nbsp;&nbsp;Candidates are expected to display a high level of critical thinking and reasoning skills, identify as high performers, as well as being self-motivating. &nbsp;Accountabilities:&nbsp;As a Workshop Supervisor, you will be overseeing the daily operations of the workshop, ensuring it is properly staffed, equipped, and maintained to meet production goals and quality standards. You will foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement, while ensuring the workshop adheres to strict safety protocols and implements measures to continuously improve safety records and practices.&nbsp;Duties and Responsibilities:&nbsp;<ul><li>Supervise and coordinate operative daily service activities on the floor. Keeping the workflow moving with safety, well-being, and continuous improvement mindset. Maintaining safe work environment is the top priority.</li><li>Performance evaluations and development discussions, including target settings and individual development planning. </li><li>Daily morning meetings and Toolbox talks. Ensures that work is assigned to technicians in an equal and fair manner.</li><li>Make sure the workshop staff have all the relevant bulletins/instructions/manuals before the job starts.</li><li>Provides technical support for technicians when necessary.</li><li>Checks progress of each work order throughout the day.</li><li>Maintains high-quality service repairs and minimizes comebacks. Conducts checks throughout the job execution with responsibility for thoroughness and quality.</li><li>Assist with SWR backlog and timely submission of SWR by WS staff.</li><li>Accounts for all documents; ensures that none are missing, and all are processed correctly. That includes not only the order related documents, but also signing off daily/weekly/monthly/periodic check lists for cranes, forklifts, and other WS/facility equipment in the WS etc..</li><li>Monitors shop condition, including cleanliness, safety, and the condition of shop equipment. Reports problems to the workshop manager </li><li>Ensures the proper care, storage, and inventory of special tools which are in WS custody.</li><li>Plan short term capacity and maintenance of the machines and tools together with Quality Supervisor. </li><li>Keep the Workshop Manager informed of any issues well in time. </li><li>Motivate the workshop team to finish jobs on time with optimized labour hours (productivity and efficiency). </li><li>Strives for harmony and teamwork within the department and with all other departments.</li></ul>&nbsp;Main Requirements:&nbsp;<ul><li>Degree in a relevant field (e.g., Engineering, Business Management) or equivalent work experience.</li><li>Proven experience in workshop management, preferably in a heavy equipment industry.</li><li>Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team.</li><li>Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.</li><li>Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in a workshop environment.</li><li>Exceptional organizational and time management skills.</li><li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills.</li><li>Strong computer literacy.</li></ul>&nbsp;As an ideal candidate, we expect you to have:&nbsp;<ul><li>High integrity</li><li>Passionate about people</li><li>Customer focus</li><li>Strong focus on quality and safety</li><li>Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) in languages needed to support the team</li><li>Good negotiating skills</li><li>Strong organizational skills</li><li>Team player mindset</li><li>Ability to lead persons of different cultural backgrounds</li></ul>&nbsp;Why you &amp; us?&nbsp;&nbsp;Wärtsilä North America values our employees.
