Summary

Perform hands-on custodial work to include cleaning areas inside and around Redemption Centers and to remove debris in parking lots.  Keep company vehicle clean and assist co-workers as needed.

 

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for trash collection inside and around the building as well as the parking lot of Redemption Center
  • Inspect/clean restrooms and stock paper products and soap as needed
  • Dust all light fixtures and remove interior and exterior cobwebs
  • Remove insects and other pests and set-up traps or other deterrents
  • Clean/wash all storefront windows
  • Clean Front of House wall and baseboards
  • Reverse Vending Machine cleaning
  • Clean Front of House handwash sink and surrounding area
  • Clean Back of House mop sink
  • Demonstrate safe and efficient work practices with a positive and professional attitude and demeanor
  • Assists other team members as needed or when business needs dictate
  • Other duties as assign.

 

Education/Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 1-2 years’ experience in custodial or janitorial services

 

Requirements – Skills, Job Knowledge & Abilities

  • Understand janitorial and landscaping tasks and tools
  • Effective communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently with little oversight
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects for the most efficient use of assets and time.
  • Ability to project a positive and professional attitude and demeanor
  • Must have a current driver's license and acceptable driving history for travel for work. An acceptable driving record based on an MVR check is a requirement for this position.

    Supervisory Responsibility

    • None

     

    Travel

    • Local travel in a company vehicle to and from various worksites primarily in the Portland metro and Salem areas

     

    Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

    • Work schedule is Monday – Friday, 11:30 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
    • Must be able to work around hazardous machinery, moving parts and wet floors
    • Stand, walk, bend and move intermittently during shifts of 8+ hours
    • Ability to lift and carry debris bags, cleaning equipment and supplies up to 50 lbs.
    • Use of arms, wrists, hands, and the ability to grasp objects for performing tasks
    • Work in cold and warm environments and work with chemicals and industrial cleaning materials
    • Adherence to proper personal protective equipment (PPE) standards, such as wearing safety glasses, use of hearing and hand protection, and wearing hight visibility clothing
    • Occasional sitting in a vehicle for extended periods when traveling between job sites.
