Job Description
X-energy is seeking experienced professionals to join our Corporate Development team in the role of Director, Projects Strategy & Finance. This role is responsible for identifying, developing, and executing strategies related to new business opportunities for capabilities and services related to the organization's development and deployment of customer projects.
- Identify and research business capabilities and services that the organization can monetize for customers.
- Conduct market analysis and competitive research to assess the potential for specific capabilities or services.
- Collaborate with finance, business development, and engineering and operations teams to understand and identify key areas of value that represent unique capabilities and competitive advantages.
- Develop a clear strategy for monetizing identified capabilities, including pricing strategies, go-to-market approaches, and potential risks.
- Build comprehensive business cases for development of new business capabilities and services, including detailed financial models.
- Forecast financial outcomes based on market research, historical data, and industry trends.
- Provide financial analysis to support the business case and highlight the profitability and return on investment (ROI) of initiatives.
- Work with finance teams to ensure the accuracy and rigor of financial models and forecasts.
- Create and present clear, compelling stories that articulate the strategy behind the monetization of business capabilities.
- Develop presentation materials, including strategic overviews, financial analyses, and forecasts, for executive leadership and key stakeholders.
- Lead executive presentations, ensuring the strategy is communicated effectively and decision-makers understand the financial impact of each initiative.
- Make recommendations to the executive team on which opportunities to pursue and the expected outcomes.
- Continuously improve financial models and business cases based on new data, feedback from leadership, and market changes.
- Develop a deep understanding of the organization’s core strengths and identify new ways to unlock value from existing capabilities.
- Support departmental leadership with other activities related to the financials of current projects.
- Maintain professional demeanor and behavior at all times in all forms of communication.
- Perform other duties as assigned by manager.
Job Profile Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Engineering or a related field.
- Typically, fifteen years of general work experience. Experience in investment banking or management consulting is highly preferred.
- An MBA with three plus of related experience in strategy, finance, or similar business roles, with a strong focus on financial modeling, business case development, and strategic planning, can be in lieu of fifteen years of general work experience.
- Experience in building financial models and presenting to executive leadership.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- Expertise in data analysis, forecasting, and scenario planning.
Location: 530 Gaither Road, Rockville, MD
Work Site Expectations: 5 days a week in office
Travel Expectations: up to 10% as needed
Hours: Standard office schedule are 8:00am-5:00pm ET, Mon-Fri
Compensation
As required by Maryland and other applicable state law, X Energy, LLC (X-energy) lists the expected compensation range for a publicly advertised job opportunity based upon the job requirements (e.g. education/training, experience, skill sets, etc.). Individual candidates who meet the job requirements for the posted position will be offered a salary within this range based on their respective levels of education/training, experience, and other qualifications unique to them. Salary ranges may vary based on the specific office location and region referenced in the posting to take into consideration differences in cost of living and may not be reflective of all regions. Please note that compensation ranges listed for US job postings reflect base salary only and do not include benefits or other incentives.
A reasonable estimate for this position at the level of experience required is:
$213,120- $296,000. The compensation for this position is comprised of base salary plus an annual short term incentive which is variable, based on scope of responsibility and achievement of goals.Position Job Classification
