ACCIONA Facility Services needs to cover an EHS technician position on his new project in Arlington.

KEY RESPONSABILITIES:

• Drive injury prevention, spill elimination and sustainability in the areas of waste elimination, energy conservation and water consumption; provide leadership and direction for EHS training; and includes oversight and completion of the industrial hygiene program.
• Lead incident and injury investigation process and incident reporting management. Ensure actions from incidents are appropriate to prevent recurrence and ensure timely closure of incidents and associated actions.
• Submit workers’ compensation documentation for work related injuries and lead fire prevention and emergency response activities.
• Drive key safety initiatives including Job Safety Analysis, site safety risk assessments, risk mitigation, and Management of Change.
• Assist in site managing personnel for safety work activities.
• Adhere to all safety policies and procedures including, but not limited to, Lock Out/Tag Out/Try Out (LOTO) (ensuring machinery is off before performing maintenance or repair), hot work, confined spaces work, use of powered industrial machines, etc.
• Assist in the preparation environmental reports for EPA, TCEQ, City, and TRA to ensure compliance with permit conditions.
• Assist in the development of company-wide environmental standards, Work Instructions, and SOPs.
• Assist in RCRA Hazardous and Non-Hazardous Waste classification, profile, sorting, labeling, disposal, recycle, shipping preparation. Assist in waste minimization and cost reductive plans and achieve zero landfill goals.
• Inspect and audit plant environmental programs for conformance to EPA, TCEQ, and local applicable environmental regulations and maintain records.
• Work with management teams to identify, develop, and implement continuous improvement and sustainability projects applicable to both regulatory and operational improvements.
• Other duties as assigned.

Entre sus actividades se incluyen: reconocimiento y evaluación de riesgos de accidentes y enfermedades profesionales, control de riesgos en el ambiente o medios de trabajo, formaciones de prevención de riesgos y difusión de la importancia de dicha prevención, registro de información y análisis de la información, asesoramiento y soporte técnico a los empleados de la compañia.

Required Skills and Competencies

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Engineering, or a related field or equivalent in years of experience.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years in an EHS position, preferably within manufacturing, construction, renewable energy, etc.
  • Certifications: Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Occupational Health and Safety Technologist (OHST), or equivalent is preferred.

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory standards.
  • Experience with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 implementation and audits.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills for conducting root cause analyses.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with employees and managers.
  • Ability to design and deliver effective training programs.
  • Proficiency in EHS software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Work Environment:

  • This position may require walk around the site and customer location.
  • Must be comfortable working in both office and field environments, with occasional exposure to outdoor weather and industrial settings.
