Job Summary: Eprius is hiring an Assistant Controller to supervise the day-to-day activities of the Accounting and Accounts Payable team, assume responsibility for a smooth monthly financial close, and work with the Controller and CFO in further designing and building our accounting and finance organization as the company continues to scale.
The Assistant Controller will work closely with, and report to, the Controller while also interacting regularly with other members of company leadership.
Responsibilities:

The Assistant Controller will have managerial responsibilities and will be expected to inspire and lead a team. He or she will need to have strong oral and written communication skills, be creative and adaptive in a complex growth environment, and understand the importance of leading by educating others on how and why things are done.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide leadership and management support to the accounting and A/P team
- Manage a timely monthly close process, including reviewing/posting timesheets/payroll, A/R, journal entries, bank reconciliations, cost reports, invoicing and revenue recognition, and preparation of financial reports consistent with GAAP accounting standards
- In coordination with the Controller, administer and/or oversee payroll, A/R, tax reporting, and employee option exercise administration
- Further develop processes and frameworks to improve financial and regulatory risk management and compliance across the enterprise
- Work closely with the FP&A team in developing scalable solutions for accounting data generation and analysis
- Deliver financial diligence and analysis in support of Company financing transactions, including maintaining strong, positive relationships with the Company’s financing partners
- Advise the CFO, Controller, and FP&A team on business and financial planning
- Provide strategic recommendations to the Controller and executive team
- Support external financial and government audits
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or relevant discipline
- U.S. Government contract experience (FAR/DFARS)
- 10+ years of accounting experience with financial close activities, generating financial statements, and experience with GAAP financial statement audits
- Prior accounting supervisory experience
- Strong oral and written communication and organization
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Attentive to detail with pride in work quality
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- CPA
- Experience with manufacturing and cost accounting
- Familiarity with Oracle Fusion ERP
- Familiarity with DCAA audit expectations and support
- Familiarity with Incurred Cost Submissions (ICE Model)
- Experience with international subsidiaries reporting to U.S. parent
- Experience with consolidations
- Experience with M&A activity
Additional Information
- This position is a hybrid role, though the candidate is expected to be in the office at least three days a week
Periodic travel may be required

As required by the Equal Pay Transparency Act, Epirus provides a reasonable range of minimum compensation for roles that may be hired. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location.
For the state of California only, the range of starting pay for this role is:
$133,328—$188,000 USD
