Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Aviation Construction Manager to be based in Dallas, TX.
SUMMARY
Responsible for the management of all construction phase services for one or more aviation and/or airfield projects, in accordance with the written project/construction documents and established policies and procedures.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee project construction contractor(s) through the construction process and ensure the timely completion of all construction phase support services in accordance with the written project and construction documents
- Oversee and ensure the adequate inspection by DFW-DCC and/or project inspection staff construction activities
- Coordinate and schedule construction activities, inspections and testing with contractors, tenants, customers, owners and other stakeholders
- Perform design reviews with an eye on constructability, staging, phasing and construction methods
- Review project baseline schedules for accuracy and compliance with Contract Documents
- Track contractor resources and progress against baseline schedule and three week look-ahead schedules
- Coordinate with DFW Planning and Ops to ensure work activities and projects are in line with DFW goals and objectives
- Review and verify progress payments of construction contractors
- Proactively resolve issues to minimize client exposure
- Proactively work to avoid claims and resolve claims expeditiously to minimize client exposure
- Utilize the DFW approved software to manage projects (Unifier, BIM, Primavera P6, Sharepoint, etc.)
- Supervise and ensure the correction of non-conforming work
- Develop and recommend in the proposed settlement of change orders, claims and revisions to the construction contract schedule and budget
- Evaluate and provide recommendations to senior management and/or DFW-DCC for changes and/or modifications to the construction contractor scope of services
- Manage projects to complete within budget and schedule constraints
