What you will be responsible for:

We are looking for a highly skilled Construction Foreman with deep single-family home building experience to join our team in Mountain View, CA. The Foreman will take ownership of the day-to-day onsite execution of Aro Homes field construction projects in the Bay Area. This role will be responsible for managing and executing site-level construction activities, including site setup and preparation, modular assembly/stitching, and finishing of Aro homes. The Foreman will combine experience across several trades with strong leadership and communication skills to drive efficiency, ensure safety, and maintain Aro’s high-quality standards.

This position will coordinate and manage the activities of Aro Homes’ self-perform teams, subcontractors, and Team Leads, in collaboration with the Superintendent. The Foreman will also oversee on-site productivity, workflow planning, and subcontractor performance, while fostering a positive, safety-focused, and collaborative work environment.

This role will be on-site 5 days a week. Travel around the Bay Area Peninsula and South Bay is required.

What You’ll Do:

Site Setup and Daily Operations

  • Oversee site setup and ensure readiness for daily construction activities.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for daily subcontractor management and operational issues on-site.

  • Oversee daily huddles, work plans and IWP (Installation Work Packages) to ensure alignment with project schedules and milestones.

  • Manage day-to-day construction activities on-site, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and according to specifications.

  • Cover Team Lead responsibilities if absent, ensuring seamless supervision, safety, quality, and task alignment.

Safety and Quality

  • Support and grow “STOP for Each Other” program, quality, and productivity and address any issues or defects promptly.

  • Enforce compliance with OSHA standards, company safety protocols, and project-specific safety requirements.

Project Productivity and Coordination

  • Track and document subcontractor performance, escalating issues or risks to the Superintendent and Resource Manager when necessary.

  • Coordinate and lead subcontractors, and Team Leads, fostering collaboration and a productive work environment.

  • Identify and generate change orders by leveraging knowledge of contracts to distinguish between in-scope tasks and additional work, escalating approval to the Superintendent.

  • Communicate effectively with external stakeholders, including inspectors, engineers, and subcontractors, to ensure all requirements are met.

Lean and Continuous Improvement

  • Provide clear and actionable feedback to design, manufacturing, and procurement teams, identifying opportunities for improvement.

  • Implement and grow Lean construction principles by optimizing workflows, reducing waste and ensuring efficient material and labor usage.

  • Fix what slows the team down, identifying and addressing recurring issues to enhance site performance and overall project flow.

Material and Resource Management

  • Aggregate and track material requests from subcontractors and Team Leads, ensuring timely availability to prevent delays.

  • Work with the Superintendent to address resource or material constraints.

Documentation and Reporting

  • Maintain accurate records of daily logs, IWP’s, RFIs, and safety reports.

  • Ensure all required reports (e.g., RFIs, productivity updates) are submitted promptly and accurately to the Superintendent.

Experience and Education:

  • High School or GED equivalent required.

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in residential construction.

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in a leadership role is preferred.

  • Lean construction experience highly desirable.

  • OSHA 10 Certification required.

  • Proficiency using digital tools to manage RFI’s and daily reporting.

  • Advance Work Packaging (AWP) experience is a plus.

  • Strong ability to read, interpret, and apply field installation drawings and floor plans.

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage on-site teams effectively.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong bias for action.

  • Detail-oriented with a focus on maintaining high-quality standards.

  • Problem-solving abilities to address on-site challenges effectively.

  • Adaptable with a growth mindset and a proactive approach to learning.

  • Coachable, open to feedback, and committed to growth.
