THE ROLE: Senior Systems Administrator Spruce Power, a leading provider of solar energy to over 53,000 customers, is the nation’s #1 independent residential solar servicing company, and offers customers a comprehensive, end-to-end servicing solution including financial asset management, account services, billing, fleet management, and customer support to third-party asset owners and retail customers. Spruce is headquartered in Denver, CO, with a presence in Houston, TX and the Bay Area, CA. This role is envisioned to be located in Houston, TX. Spruce is seeking a Senior System Administrator who will be responsible for managing our server and network infrastructures; a well as, coordinating with our Managed Service Provider to provide technical software and hardware support. This technical generalist should understand multiple IT disciplines like networking and security, system administration, and service desk operations. To be successful in this role, you should have excellent troubleshooting skills; and a customer service-first attitude. Ultimately, you will ensure our software, hardware, servers and networks run smoothly.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Along with the MSP, the role will perform or coordinate:
Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, software, systems, networks, and peripherals
Record, track and document support requests, problem-solving processes, and resolutions
Monitors and maintains inventories of relevant technology disposables, hardware, and software
Workstation imaging and deployment
Microsoft 365 application suite and Azure administration including management of Azure AD, identity, access management and managing Azure Tenants
Maintain and optimize local company networks and servers
Be responsible for device and password management
Oversee data backup and system security operations (e.g. user authorization, firewalls)
Resolve issues escalated by technicians and engineers
Provide support and guidance to stakeholders via help desk
Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues
Install servers, devices and firewalls
Monitor the performance of servers, software and hardware
Update technical documentation
Support ongoing Cybersecurity activities
Implement and maintain Azure resource threat detection
Recommend and implement policies that best protect our client without disrupting workflow for our client or their partners
Proactively monitor, investigate, and respond to cybersecurity events including intrusion detection, inappropriate file access, logins from inappropriate or multiple locations
Provide IT support for SOX evidence gathering and testing activities
QUALIFICATIONS
3 - 5+ years of proven experience in an IT Operations lead role with work experience as a Senior System Administrator
Experience with system installation, configuration and analysis
Thorough knowledge of networks and cloud computing
Knowledge of data protection operations and legislation (e.g. GDPR)
Leadership and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple projects
Outstanding communication skills
Problem-solving aptitude
Good knowledge of at least one scripting language
Solid understanding of LAN/WAN networks
Knowledge of system security techniques
Good problem-solving and communication skills
Ability to meet deadlines with limited supervision.
Authorized to work in the United States
