Position Overview
The European Investment Grade Credit Associate will work as part of the deal team across a broad range of investment opportunities spanning Apollo’s integrated platform. The Associate will work on all stages of the investment underwriting and portfolio management process on a variety of opportunities spanning the investment grade funds strategy. Focusing specifically on European Investment Grade Corporates, the successful candidate will support the Principal on the existing coverage of corporates across liquid and illiquid mandates.
The Associate will be primarily responsible for modeling, quantitative financial analysis, industry research, and ongoing investment monitoring, serving as a key driver of the investment process in partnership with the broader deal team. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to play an active and integral role in the investment process, analyzing credit across multiple industries and sectors across the full spectrum of the Apollo Credit ecosystem.
Primary Responsibilities
Analyze and monitor European Corporate credits across regional mandates
Proactively read and report on research and market commentaries, reviewing quarterly financial statements and refreshing credit assessments and internal ratings
Ability to research and communicate in-depth industry reports as needed
Prepare credit onboarding materials and investment memorandums for new investments
Provide analytical and project support for all investment-related activities
Drive modelling, quantitative financial analysis, financial and business due diligence, and reporting and monitoring activities on individual credit investments
Play an active role on the deal team, analyzing and synthesizing investment rationale in preparation for committee review and debate
Qualifications & Experience
3+ years of relevant work experience in a buy-side or sell-side financial markets role, with a preference for experience in Leveraged Finance or M&A
Undergraduate degree with an exceptional record of academic achievement
Strong background in investment grade and high-yield as a corporate analyst covering the European region; robust cashflow modelling skills required
Thorough understanding of credit instruments, credit rating methodologies, and corporate capitalization
Excellent attention to detail; strong written and verbal communication skills
Robust interpersonal skills to support communication with external counterparties and management of internal stakeholders, both within Credit ecosystem and across broader investment platform
Excels in a rigorous and fast-paced team-oriented work environment; adept at managing competing priorities across multiple projects, transactions, and workstreams
