Hitachi Rail is inviting Senior RF Design Engineer

This opportunity is based in Eagle Farm, Brisbane.  Long term role – immediate start

The Position:  Senior RF Design Engineer

You will be primarily responsible for designing & delivery of Radio Access networks for various rail projects.  You will ensure designs are constructable, develop scope of works, order materials, engage with various internal and external stakeholders to complete telecommunications system delivery

• Design and implement radio access networks.
• Preparation of engineering design documents, specifications, drawings and scopes of work on time and within budget to meet project deadlines for assigned work packages.
• Lead and participate Radio Access network design approval and review process
• Ensure that project activities including designs are completed “ Right First Time”  and where required drive continuous improvement.

Working as part of the engineering design and delivery team, you will work directly within the telecommunications engineering team and will be primarily responsible for design of radio access network.

Skills & Experience:

• At least 10+ years’ experience as a RF design Engineer on large scale Australian projects.
• An engineering degree enabling full membership to Engineers Australia.
• Extensive experience in RF link budget calculations, modelling and simulation tools such as Atoll, ATDI and Planet.
• Experience in working with customers to understand project requirements and generating specifications.

• Demonstrated experience with designing GSM and 4G/ 5G technologies. Well-developed organisational skills, with an ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines.
• Collaborative communication style with the ability to work effectively as a member of a team.
