Role Description:
We are currently looking for a Principal (equivalent to VP) or Director to join Alantra’s Real Estate Debt investment team. The professional will be actively involved in all stages of the investment cycle, with a specific focus on real estate-backed financing opportunities. Responsibilities include:
- Origination, analysis, and monitoring of real estate debt investment opportunities across various asset classes (logistics, hospitality, living, offices, retail, etc.).
- Active participation in the full investment process: structuring, coordination of financial and technical due diligence, negotiation with borrowers and banks, and review of legal documentation (LMA standards, mortgage agreements, pledges, etc.).
- Preparation of investment memoranda and presentation to the investment committee.
- Portfolio monitoring and asset management including covenant tracking, waivers, refinancing processes, and performance analysis.
- Leading and coordinating execution teams, as well as supporting fundraising and investor relations activities when needed.
Requirements:
Candidate Profile:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, or similar. An MBA is a plus.
- Experience: 7–10 years of relevant experience combining real estate financing, leveraged finance, and/or private equity or private debt investment. Prior exposure to real estate structured lending or special situations is required.
- Languages: Fluency in English and Spanish is required; knowledge of additional languages (especially Italian or French) is a plus.
- Skills:
- Excellent analytical and modelling skills.
- Strong understanding of real estate asset valuation, financing structures, and cash flow modelling.
- Deep knowledge of financial documentation and legal structuring.
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
- Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work autonomously in a dynamic environment.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
