Position Overview

Apollo Global Management is seeking an Associate to join its rapidly growing Third-Party Insurance Client Service and Business Management team. This role is designed to support the Head of Client Service and Business Management. The role involves servicing the needs of our insurance clients by prioritizing and addressing client matters and ensuring excellent customer centricity. The position also involves providing material support for strategic business initiatives, executing front office and cross-organizational partnerships, business process reengineering, strategy implementation, and project management. This dynamic role offers significant opportunities for advancement and personal and professional growth.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Client Service:
    • Administer the client onboarding process.
    • Support Senior Client Service team members in fielding all client portfolio-related requests by providing support and ensuring timely delivery of responses.
    • Ensure fulfillment of all client reporting needs, including preparation of recurring and ad hoc presentation materials.
    • Conduct broad relationship tracking and monitoring for all third-party insurance clients.
    • Maintain Jira system for tracking all client requests and subsequent interactions.
    • Maintain close communication with middle-office operations and other business verticals (e.g. Portfolio Management, Sales, Legal, Finance, Risk).
    • Provide support for new and existing products, RFPs, due diligence requests and IMA negotiations.
    • Work with internal teams and subject matter experts to document and update standard operating procedures for Client Service.
    • Partner with the front office on the creation and evolution of dashboards and reports.
  • Business Management:
    • Serve as right hand to business unit leader.
    • Assist in the implementation of long-term business plans and operating model enhancements.
    • Coordinate key activities and business management matters for existing and new business.
    • Partner closely with cross-organizational support function teams around business support, metrics, budgeting, forecasting, and expense management.
    • Assist with data integrity initiatives across all business functions.
    • Assist with new process and systems design and support implementation to improve control, scalability, and efficiency.
    • Emphasize cooperation with operations and information technology for process and system enhancements.
    • Support ad hoc projects and proactively identify opportunities for improvement.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree with an excellent academic record; MBA, CFA, or actuarial certification preferred.
  • 5 or more years of experience supporting the insurance asset management process either at a buy-side asset manager, top tier Insurance consultant, or a large insurer.
  • Resourceful with strong organizational, analytical, and quantitative skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of insurance portfolios and needs of insurance clients.
  • Self-starter with a strong work ethic, genuine willingness to learn, and passion for development.
  • Ability to work and communicate with a wide variety of internal and external constituents.
  • Strong skills in PowerPoint, Excel, project management, and follow-through. Working knowledge of BlackRock’s Aladdin system is a plus.
  • Excellent writing, presentation, and interpersonal skills; strong team player with an entrepreneurial predisposition.
  • Experience with multi-currency investing, portfolio accounting, and performance measurement; studies in Actuarial Science, Applied Statistics, Financial Analysis, Insurance, Economics, Mathematics, or related quantitative disciplines a plus.

Pay Range

$125,000-150,000

The base salary range for this position is listed above. This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus based on personal, team, and Firm performance. Compensation ranges are based on several factors including job function, level, and geographic location. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed here.
