About this role

 

We are seeking an experienced professional to form part of the project execution department at associate level.  The Project Planner will support the Lead Planner by capturing project progress and collecting data for project reporting. The role requires capturing project progress, compiling reporting information from various leads and stakeholders, and ensuring timely and accurate delivery of project data. This position is ideal for an individual with mid-level project planning experience, strong communication skills, and a keen attention to detail.

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Construction Planning oversight: provide planning support and oversight for the EPC phase, ensuring alignment with overall project timlines and milestones.
    Schedule Management: Develop, maintain and update detailed construction schedules, identify critical paths, and monitor progress to ensure timely project delivery. Monitor project progress throughout its lifecycle.
    Coordination with EPC team: Collaborate with the EPC team to ensure the timely information flow and proper sequencing of activities. Participate in project meetings, provide updates and address planning-related queries.
  • Progress Monitoring: Track and maintain progress against the project schedule baseline. Identify and assess potential delays or risks, collaborating with the team to implement mitigation strategies.
  • Reporting: Prepare regular status reports for stakeholders, highlighting progress, risks, and required corrective actions. Ensure the accuracy and completeness of project documentation.
  • Resource Planning: Assist the Lead Planning Manager in ensuring proper allocation of resources (labour, materials and equipment) for EPC activities.
  • Change Management: Monitor changes to project scope or schedule, ensuring proper documentation and approval processes are followed.
  • Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of planning processes, tools and systems to increase project efficiency and effectiveness.
  • This role requires close coordination with multiple teams to ensure the smooth execution of EPC activities, maintaining the overall project's timeline, scope, and budget.

 

Required skills and education background

  • Proficiency in project planning software (MS Project and Primavera) certificate or suitable, demonstrating relevant experience. 
    Strong understanding of project scheduling, progress reporting, and resource management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with a range of stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing priorities.
  • A degree or formal qualification in one of the following disciplines: Engineering, Quantity surveying, Supply Chain management
  • 3 - 5 years’ experience working as a planner in large construction project environments, preferably within renewable energy or construction projects
  • 1 – 2 years relevant renewable industry or grid infrastructure experience will be beneficial.
