We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Field Service Technician to join our team. As a Field Service Technician, you will be traveling to customer sites located in the USA and Canada. You will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting automated machinery and equipment. You will receive immediate training and ongoing mentorship from our current field service technicians who have decades of experience in horticultural automation.

Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot automated machinery and equipment
  • Inspect equipment and conduct performance tests to identify issues
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware and programming issues
  • Perform repairs, upgrades, and preventive maintenance on automation systems
  • Provide technical support to clients, including training on equipment operation
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to identify areas for improvement and assist in the development of new automation solutions
  • Promptly and accurately document all repairs, upgrades, and maintenance activities

 Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, skills, and abilities required)

  • Combination of education and experience including an Associate degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field and 2-5 years field experience
  • Proven experience in installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting automation systems
  • Strong knowledge of electrical circuits, PLC programming, and industrial communication protocols
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and schematics
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Effective communication and people skills
  • Effective time management skills and the ability to work independently
  • Flexibility to travel up to 50% to different client sites and work flexible hours as needed. Travel is typically within the work week.
