Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Project Manager III to be based in San Diego, CA
- Manages one or more very complex project, involving a combination of the following:
- Clients with a national geographic footprint; OR,
- Projects involving a full spectrum of services offered by IE; OR,
- Other complexities, such as projects that involve litigation, environmental protection, due diligence, etc.
- Manages all phases of projects (from beginning to close out).
- Has consenting and regulatory authority for approvals.
- Manages other Project Managers.
- Provide liaison between district and outside architectural, engineering and landscape firms and other individual consultants providing design services for bond-funded new construction and structural remodeling for the district.
- Coordinate the planning, program administration, design, construction, warranty, and commissioning of building projects/programs which could include new schools and other district facilities.
- Assist supervisory staff with other large and complex projects.
- Prepare architectural designs, construction documents and specifications using CADD (Computer Aided Drafting Design) hardware and software, including other standard office equipment, computers, and assigned software applications.
- Prepare, monitor and control project estimates, budgets and schedules.
- Monitor progress of architectural projects/programs.
- Ensure project/program deadlines are met.
- Administer design and construction contracts, review proposals, negotiate project/program scope and cost, resolve disputes, and finalize contracts for board of education approval.
- Provide construction/remodeling information to design consultants, reviews work products for compliance with district standards, regulations, and code compliance, contract compliance, quality assurance and appropriate function.
- Monitor contractors work; prepare correspondence, reports and other documents.
- Participate in meetings to present information to advisory groups and committees.
- Lead other architectural unit staff on a project/program basis.
- Assist in expediting projects/programs through the office of the state architect.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
