AECOM is seeking candidates to fill the role of Commercial Manager on large transit infrastructure projects in the NY Metro area where AECOM is the PMC.

  • Identify and manage potential project change orders or claims, negotiate construction change orders, and prepare and process change order requests in accordance with client processes and procedures
  • Review contract drawings and validate the justifications for additional work requests. Additionally, the Commercial Manager will develop scopes of work and facilitate the development of cost estimates for negotiation
  • Analyze schedule and cost impacts for additional work and will verify time and materials. Additionally, the Commercial Manager will assess whether this work is progressing in a timely fashion
  • Maintains updated logs on the status of extra work requests and change orders and apprises client agency of progress toward resolving issues
  • Responsible for maintaining a project file for any claims and delays along with the associated costs and schedule impacts. The CM will make recommendations regarding cost and schedule and will brief Sr Managers regarding impactable delay and impact costs
  • Directs and provides guidance to subordinate managers, enforces company and project policies, and is a primary liaison between AECOM and client interface for commercial project matters
  • Develop and implement commercial strategies to maximize project profitability while ensuring client satisfaction
  • Collaborate with project managers and technical teams to identify potential risks and opportunities, and develop mitigation strategies
  • Conduct regular financial reviews and forecasts, providing accurate and timely reports to senior management
  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, company policies, and relevant regulations throughout the project lifecycle
  • Lead contract negotiations with subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring favorable terms and conditions for the company
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, partners, and internal teams
  • Mentor and develop junior commercial team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing
