Software Engineer (API/Network Devices)

Tether is building AI that learns the behavior of millions of private Electric Vehicles to coordinate their charging patterns, turning these cars into the world's largest - and cleanest - distributed battery that helps to reinforce the power grid.

Your Mission

We're seeking a Software Engineer specializing in API integration and network device interfaces, with a focus on electric vehicle charging infrastructure and power metering systems. This role focuses on integrating with third-party services and performing real-time data processing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build integrations with third-party APIs

• Implement a service to collect readings from power meters

• Produce detailed reports of power consumption

• Monitor and analyze network performance metrics and network communication reliability

• Implement security best practices for device authentication and data transmission

Required Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience in software development

• Strong knowledge of REST APIs and network protocols

• Experience with real-time data processing and analytics

• Experience with fundamental AWS services

• Good proficiency in Typescript and Python

• Based in Stockholm, Sweden

Preferred Qualifications:

• Understanding of electrical systems and power management concepts

• Experience with EV charging systems or smart grid technologies

• Understanding of IoT communication protocols and networking concepts

• Knowledge of OCPP (Open Charge Point Protocol)

• Familiarity with power metering systems

• Experience with Jupyter notebooks

• Frontend development experience (React, NextJS)
