Job Description

Albemarle is hiring for a Regulatory Affairs Professional I. This position is hybrid and located in Belgium in Louvain-La-Neuve.

What You Will Do

  • Assist in ensuring compliance of Albemarle products through product registration and notification activities, including the coordination, collection, and collation of documentation to prepare accurate regulatory dossier.
  • Support the monitoring of EU, UK, and Turkish REACH, with a strong emphasis on experience in REACH.
  • Provide regulatory support, including assisting in the development of regulatory timelines, and help prepare, submit, and maintain chemical management regulatory filings (including renewals) to ensure compliance with relevant country regulations, with a primary focus on REACH.
  • Assess current products to ensure they comply with REACH regulation.
  • Coordinate and review product testing performed by internal partners or external consultants to ensure regulatory and safety compliance and complete required regulatory submissions.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of effective documentation and data control management for compliance files, including maintaining registration files and supporting information in relevant IT systems for inquiries and historical purposes.

What You Bring

Required:

  • Bachelor or Master 's degree in chemistry or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in preparing and executing regulatory submissions on a European level.
  • Experience with EU REACH compliance is required.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Ability to understand and interpret technical and regulatory documents to ensure high-quality and comprehensive regulatory submission.
  • Experience with IT regulatory tools like IUCLID, REACH IT.

Preferred:

  • Experience with other EU chemical management programs (e.g., RoHS, WEEE, ELV, Food contact).
  • Additional years of experience beyond the minimum requirement.
  • Experience with IT regulatory tools like SAP
  • Ability to work autonomously, manage large amounts of detailed information, and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal) in both French and English.
  • Ability to work in a multicultural and international environment.
  • Effective analytical problem-solving, judgment, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong teamwork, interpersonal, and collaborative skills.
