Pre-Shift Inspections:

  • The 90-day warehouse coordinator and attendant must inspect forklifts, trucks, and containers as per MWP-9060 and turn in the inspection forms to GFL Safety daily.

  • The GFL Safety Supervisor is responsible for maintaining records of these inspections.

Respirator Fit and Training:

  • The 90-day warehouse attendant must meet the half-face respirator fit requirement annually, in compliance with EHS and OSHA standards.

  • The warehouse coordinator must comply with the Annual Training Requirements for Solid Waste Personnel.

Waste Management:

  • The warehouse coordinator handles hazardous/non-hazardous waste, including drums, flobins, and roll-off containers.

  • Containers must be inspected for condition and labels before acceptance; unlabelled roll-off containers must be reported to dispatch.

  • Drums are weighed and assigned a drum log number upon receipt and documented daily.

Shipping and Housekeeping:

  • The warehouse attendant prepares shipments of drums or flobins as instructed, notifying the Shipping Coordinator of any issues.

  • Housekeeping tasks, such as sweeping and debris removal, must be done daily by the warehouse coordinator.

  • The coordinator consolidates drums into roll-off containers and notifies the Shipping Coordinator of any issues or required target dates.

Waste Container Accumulation and Aerosol Management:

  • The warehouse coordinator conducts Waste Container Accumulation Area inspections and promptly reports any issues to GFL Safety.

  • Support is provided for puncturing paint aerosol cans and consolidating remaining aerosols.

  • Aerosol cans must be stored in drums, not placed on top.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Ensure proper closure of used oil filter drums and rotation of drums to display labels.

  • Verify all universal waste labels have accumulation start dates and ensure proper packaging and container integrity for universal waste (e.g., lamps).
