Position Overview
Apollo is seeking a strategic, creative and analytically minded Social Media Strategist to lead and elevate the social media presence of Apollo and its key executives to help achieve business objectives.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on strategist, with a deep understanding of social platform best practices/trends and the ability to turn insights into actions. The candidate will possess a combination of strong writing and project management skills, the ability to navigate a complex organization and be a collaborative partner who can work across the firm and confidently with senior stakeholders. The candidate will also have unquestionable integrity and judgement, be passionate about our work, and an ability to adapt quickly.
Primary Responsibilities:
Develop and lead Apollo’s global social media strategy across corporate and executive channels, aligned with brand and business goals.
Own the execution of platform-specific content strategies, inclusive of LinkedIn, YouTube, and emerging platforms. Create and publish timely content including written, visual, animated, video and more. Repurpose existing content to optimize for social when relevant. Partner with key groups across the firm including Legal and Compliance.
Track and evaluate performance across all social platforms and against business objectives. Leverage analytics to test, learn and drive social content strategy. Partner with broader team for integrated analytics across owned, earned and paid strategies.
Educate business partners and leaders on how to integrate and align social channels with their specific business objectives.
Monitor social media conversations related to Apollo and the industry. Share relevant insights with the team, adapt strategy as needed based on insights.
Proactively identify areas for improvement across Apollo’s social presence on an ongoing basis and work with internal teams and agency support to implement changes.
Serve as subject matter expert on social strategy, and provide guidance on new platform opportunities, social channels, best practices and help train team members when needed.
Help to maintain internal content libraries (i.e., content management systems like Hearsay) and work in partnership with team members who lead other digital platforms including Apollo.com and our intranet.
Experience managing paid social advertising campaigns is preferred.
Qualifications & Experience
5-10 years of relevant work experience required.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex financial matters into engaging content, tailored to a variety of channels and audiences.
Creative, with a keen understanding of how to translate visual identity guidelines to social mediums for maximum engagement, in alignment with our brand.
Critical thinker who utilizes excellent judgement in decision-making.
Highly entrepreneurial and self-motivated individual, who thrives in a dynamic and passionate work environment, able to respond quickly and efficiently under tight deadlines.
Excellent project management skills.
Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders and partners including L&C, partner teams, senior stakeholders and external agencies.
Thorough understanding of existing and emerging social channels and ability to drive business outcomes through appropriate channel selection. Able to coach others on appropriate selection of channels, depending on audience and desired outcomes.
Extensive knowledge of digital operating systems, content management systems, and publishing tools; expertise across all social media platforms; knowledge of Adobe suite, particularly Photoshop and InDesign a plus.
Campaign experience and analytical skills to regularly test and learn, interpret campaign data and metrics.
Pay Range

The base salary range for this position is listed above. This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus based on personal, team, and Firm performance. Compensation ranges are based on several factors including job function, level, and geographic location. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed here.
