Job Description


Position: Director of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) 

 

Location: Nashville, TN

 

Overview: The Director of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) is a key strategic partner to executive leadership, responsible for driving financial performance and business strategy through insightful analysis, forecasting, budgeting, and planning. This role leads the FP&A function and collaborates cross-functionally to inform key decisions, optimize resource allocation, and support long-term growth.

 

Main Responsibilities:

 

  • Lead the annual budgeting process, monthly forecasting, and long-range planning efforts across the organization. 
  • Develop and maintain dynamic financial models to assess performance, support scenario planning, and identify risks and opportunities.
  • Own preparation and presentation of monthly and quarterly financial reports, including dashboards, KPIs, and variance analysis.
  • Standardize and automate FP&A processes and reporting tools, improving efficiency and data accuracy.
  • Support corporate development initiatives including M&A, capital investments, and business case analysis. 
  • Ensure financial strategies align with the company’s overall goals and compliance requirements. 
  • Collaborate with Accounting, Operations, HR, and other key stakeholders to ensure financial alignment with organizational goals. 
  • Lead FP&A team to ensure high-quality deliverables, foster professional development, and build a culture of continuous improvement. 
  • Partner with department heads to track performance against budget and provide actionable analysis. 
  • Provide strategic financial insights and recommendations to the executive team to support decision-making and improve profitability. 


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting; MBA or CPA preferred. 
  • 10-15+ years of progressive FP&A or corporate finance experience, including 3–5 years in a leadership role. 
  • Strong analytical, modeling, and presentation skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights. 
  • Expertise in financial systems and tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Adaptive Insights, Anaplan, or similar). 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to influence across all levels of the organization. 
  • Track record of leading finance transformation initiatives or implementing FP&A software/tools. 
  • High attention to detail, strong business acumen, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
