Position Summary
The Preventative Maintenance and Repair Supervisor leads a team of technically skilled employees that are responsible for equipment availability, and performance in the assigned area (Front End, Back End, Deco or Process). Perform preventative maintenance and repair on a variety of electro-mechanical, robotic, and pneumatic manufacturing equipment. Develop and maintain maintenance schedules for all machinery in assigned area within the manufacturing facility. Perform supporting activities for engineering and manufacturing including 5S and Lean manufacturing activities, line improvements, production line configuration, and safety procedures. Manage workload with a positive attitude as a hands-on team player in a collaborative work environment.
Essential Functions/Key Deliverables
Develop and maintain a constant safety environment and provide necessary training updates while striving for zero incidents and full compliance with OSHA and plant standards.
Provide effective supervision, training and coaching to assigned employees to achieve the required equipment up time, equipment repairs, and production goals with a focus on optimizing safety quality, productivity and spoilage.
Applies knowledge of various processes and production methods to improve plant production.
Complete and/or administer necessary supervisory tasks such as disciplinary actions, timekeeping, accident reports and process control sheets.
Analyze data trends daily and react accordingly to any results that are out of specification.
Ensure that standard operating procedures and engineering/maintenance procedures are current, accurate and that all work is done in compliance to ensure maximum product quality.
Ensure all assigned employees comply with Environmental, Health & Safety, and Food Safety standards as set forth in plant policies/programs
Oversee employees to resolve technical and machine problems
Plan and facilitate on-the-job training and/or coaching of employees as needed; maintains documentation of training plans and completed training.
Schedule, monitor and track preventive maintenance to effectively meet production needs
Assist Operation efforts to continually improve OEE and Spoilage results
Participates in the department strategic planning process and ensures appropriate skills are available when needed
Establishes and maintains effective work relationships within the department, the plant, and the company. Includes ability to handle stress and to interact with others to establish and maintain a positive and productive work environment and minimize conflicts.
Perform any other duty reasonable corresponding with the role.
Knowledge/Skills/Experience
Associates or bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline or significant experience in a related/similar field
Strong preventive maintenance development experience, based on TPM principles a plus
Must be able to motivate/lead others, deal with ambiguity, have a results-driven mind-set, good decision-making skills, and excellent communication skills
5 years job related experience in a food safety manufacturing environment
2 years supervisory/leadership experience
Able to manage multiple tasks with competing priorities, establish and achieve goals
Proficient with Microsoft Office: Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.
