Position Summary
The Fundraising Manager will support Climate Interactive in meeting our annual fundraising goals by leading proposal development and reporting, supporting donor cultivation and stewardship efforts, and managing the administration of Climate Interactive’s development program.
The ideal candidate for this role has a track record of delivering high-quality proposals and grant reports, maintaining donor management systems and processes, and supporting executives in effectively executing fundraising strategies. Responsibilities
Proposal Writing & Reporting
Identify, research, and steward the development and submission of proposals for mission-aligned funding opportunities
Draft narratives, project plans, and budgets for proposals, letters of inquiry, and concept notes
Lead the development of interim and final grant reports, including collecting relevant data from across Climate Interactive, crafting compelling narratives, and working with New Venture Fund to compile financial reports
With support from Climate Interactive’s Managing Director, steward proposals and grant reports through NVF’s compliance processes
Donor Communication & Management
Maintain an up-to-date database of current, past, and prospective donor information, and manage donor records in CRM system (Salesforce)
In alignment with Climate Interactive’s fundraising strategy, research and qualify prospective donors
Track donations and coordinate responses according to NVF and Climate Interactive’s donor communication and stewardship protocols
Manage ongoing donor communication and stewardship activities, including organizing and scheduling donor calls, drafting solicitation emails, and preparing donor briefing materials (e.g., letters, presentations)
With support from Climate Interactive’s Communications team and Directors, coordinate, manage implementation of, and assess impact of approximately four donor outreach and giving campaigns per year
Maintain privacy of donors’ personal and financial data
Development Program Administration
Track, manage, and regularly report to Directors on pipelines, moves management efforts, and formal reporting requirements
Track and coordinate fundraising “to dos” for Directors and, as needed, other support staff
Keep development tools and systems organized, accessible, and up-to-date
Facilitate weekly internal fundraising check-in meetings with Executive and Managing Directors
Requirements
Minimum of three years development experience, preferably in the areas of grant writing and donor communications
Proven track record of developing fundraising narratives and budgets for proposals and reports with little need for oversight or editing
Proven ability to adapt technical and program-specific information for funder audiences across a variety of formats (e.g., proposals, emails, decks), and to adapt Climate Interactive’s “off the shelf” narratives to unique funder contexts
Exceptional relationship-building and cross-functional communication skills, including ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences and to engage diverse stakeholder groups at various levels of seniority and expertise
Proven track record of exercising discretion while handling confidential information
Highly-effective time management and decision making skills, with the ability to prioritize competing priorities and multiple projects
Able to work independently in a remote environment and be highly productive
Willing and able to live the values of equity and inclusion at all times while working for and representing Climate Interactive
Experience working in climate, sustainability, or related fields preferred
Advance degrees preferred but not required
Location
Remote within the U.S., with the ability to coordinate with the East Coast time zone.
Compensation
Climate Interactive offers a generous compensation package for this role, including:
Starting salary of between $80,000-$100,000, with exact compensation varying based on skills and experience
