The Opportunity
We are expanding globally and are on the lookout for a seasoned Senior Embedded Software Engineer to join our fast-paced, innovative team in Scoresby. This role will be responsible for software development, integration and testing across our cutting-edge autonomous vehicle platforms and contribute to the delivery of safe, secure, and high-performance embedded systems.
You’ll collaborate closely with other departments, shaping the next generation of mobility where vehicles run on software and are programmable, sustainable, and efficient.
What You’ll Do
Design, develop, and maintain embedded software across all layers—low-level drivers, RTOS, middleware, and application logic
Collaborate with global, cross-functional teams throughout the full software development lifecycle
Integrate third-party software modules and support system integration, and debugging activities
Contribute to architecture and implementation of scalable, modular, and maintainable embedded systems
Perform unit testing, hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing, and system-level validation to ensure software robustness
Develop software in alignment with automotive standards including ISO 26262 and ASPICE
Requirements
What You’ll Bring
A degree in Electronics Engineering, Computer Science or a related field
5+ years of experience in embedded software development, preferably in automotive or similar industries
Proficiency in C/C++, RTOS, CAN, SPI, DMA, and various microcontrollers (e.g., TriCore, NXP, STM32)
Deep understanding of SDLC, testing frameworks (SIL/PIL/HIL), and safety-critical development
Familiarity with tools such as Git, CMake, Jira, Polarion, Vector toolkits, Lauterbach TRACE32
Exposure to standards such as ISO 26262 (ASIL), ISO 21434, and ASPICE
Experience in diagnostics (UDS), OTA updates, cybersecurity, or test-driven development is desirable
Excellent communication, collaboration, and organisational skills
Must have unrestricted work rights in Australia
This is a Melbourne-based onsite role (Scoresby). Candidates must currently reside in Melbourne or be able to relocate immediately
Availability to commence employment promptly will be favourably considered
