Blue Ridge Power (BRP) is seeking a Field Engineer to join our team! The Field Engineer will be responsible for participating in the active management of our construction projects by problem-solving, performing various processes, and applying basic construction management or engineering techniques and analyses. You will work with the Construction Manager to oversee the engineering and construction of a project through closeout while interfacing with subcontractors, vendors, and clients. This position is designated as a safety-sensitive position.
This position is 100% travel and offers per diem while working on our project sites. Site states include, but are not limited to: North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, Michigan, Indiana, Kentucky, Oklahoma, Nebraska, etc.

What You鈥檒l Do:
- Provide overall project management site support during construction:
- Handle documentation (contracts, submittals, field books, daily reports, safety logs, etc.) efforts.
- Assist in creating and supporting the administration and execution of quality plans for the project.
- Serve as a point of contact for direct hire and subcontract workers to problem-solve options and resolve issues.
- Responsible for assessing a problem, applying both analysis and experience to formulate and recommend a resolution:
- Appropriately raise matters of urgency to project leadership.
- Manage the submittal and Request for Information (RFI) processes for specific discipline scopes of work:
- May assist in the negotiation of contracts.
- Coordinate with BRP craft/subcontractors/suppliers for specific work packages or scopes to ensure correct information regarding materials, logistics, changes, and quality to reduce impacts on schedule and budget.
- Identify and provide recommendations to management regarding internal and/or external barriers that prohibit successful building progress; including interaction with subcontractors/craft workers to maintain schedule, quality, and productivity.
- Evaluate project design and engineering documents for conflicts and sequencing for the most efficient and effective implementation:
- Handle their organization and distribution to necessary parties.
- Ensure retention of documents for future needs.
- Audit, purchase, and procure material, ensure inventory quality, accuracy, storage, and delivery to reduce quality issues as well as impact to space on project site.
- Support all inspections, including the final inspections and punch list process with the customer for specific discipline scope responsibilities and assist in the preparation of final records for the project.
- Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels.

Must-Haves:
- 0-1+ years of experience in construction.
- Ability to independently apply basic principles and fundamental theories of construction management or construction engineering.
- Ability to independently interpret a variety of technical instructions and documents (e.g. blueprints, design documents, etc.).
- Basic knowledge of project management principles (such as scheduling and estimating).
- Basic to Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Procore, and the Internet.
- Ability to learn and utilize different types of computer software used in Construction Management for managing any aspect of a construction project.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to build relationships and transfer information between different levels of workers.
- Active listening skills and effective communication, including an openness to diverse input and feedback.
- Ability to multitask, possessing a strong work ethic, a high degree of detail orientation, and an extreme sense of urgency.
Nice-to-Haves:
- Prior experience working on construction sites.
- Working knowledge of project scheduling concepts, techniques, and software such as MS-Project, Primavera P6, or other related industry scheduling tools.
Education and Certifications:
- Bachelor鈥檚 degree in construction management, construction engineering, engineering, or other science or mathematical-related degree, or equivalent combination of education and technical/field experience demonstrated over multiple years of related work experience.
Working Environment and Physical Demands:
- 100% travel, project-based assignment.
- Must possess and maintain a current valid driver's license required.
- Must possess reliable transportation.
- Able to travel for extended periods to various locations.
- Must comply with all company safety standards and procedures, including OSHA requirements.
- Must follow organization policies and procedures.
- Individuals in this position work in an outdoor environment and must be able to tolerate all climates.
- Must be able to sit, stoop, kneel, bend, stand, or walk short to long distances for 8-10 hours daily.
- Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds occasionally.
